You will only have capacity to produce a few dozen / low hundreds early on anyway, which pretty much all will sell in London / UK, until you can afford more factories! The very first cars are luxury items for the super rich, and if you offer a car with quality (=ladder frame) and a powerful engine, it will sell! then sell new bonds to expand factory / build factory in London. Then save a bit to get better credit rating. I'm playing on normal difficulty vs 25 AI+Marques, I start in Amsterdam, and sell cars to London, until I can repay my bonds. Having a Sedan with a ladder frame chassis and a 4 cylinder flat gasoline engine F-head, maxed out at 21hp or so, and a gearbox with enough torque to be used for PickUp contracts later. Then start designing a Sedan with all components ready from 1/1903 to 1/1904 (edit: seems more like 1/1905, unless I'm going for the very cheapest Sedan. Then I design the ladder frame chassis from 1/1902 to 1/1903. Then I stretch out designing the motor and gearbox until 1/1903. So I issue maximum bonds in the very first month until 1906. My strategy for beginning the game in 1900 is to wait for the ladder frame (I think available in 1902) before designing a chassis. Phaetons pair up well with compact cars, sedans, micro cars, etc. After upgrades, you can look into making second designs using the old components. Don't forget you can leverage long term debt (bonds) to fund factory upgrades. If you still have spare capacity in your factory, open more branches in cities with more than a million in population and high per capita. ![]() Sell the vehicle for about 2x material costs. Design a Phaeton with about 25-30% sliders in the assisted designer. If you're a new player, start a game in London, Paris, New York, or Chicago. Keep factories working at full production by either expanding branches (if not selling enough) or increasing prices (if demand is too high). Focus on a popular vehicle type in North America or Western Europe. If you've been playing for a while, it's the same as it has always been. Any good ideas on strategy the first 10 years? I have defaulted a number of times around 1910. Originally posted by petter70:I really agree.
